Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM and members were welcomed. Present were President Ed Cooke, First & Second Vice Presidents Michael O'Connor and John Wright, Secretary & Board member Carroll Cameron, Treasurer David Russell, Historian Dan Fitzgerald; Board members Bill O'Brien, Stu Robinson, Billy Cameron, Oliver Kerr, Mary Ann Fierro, Phil Gallagher, Judi Sherry, Jim Cooney, and members John Doherty, Tom Lynch and June Drake Robinson.
President's Report (Ed Cooke)
President Cooke reported on correspondence to Dade County Cultural and Festival Directory, Thomas E. Flynn, and the Little Flower and St. Augustine Catholic Churches. He also proposed appointing a new member to the Board for the vacancy for the twelfth member. Motion by O'Connor to make appointment. Second by Fierro. Motion Withdrawn.
Minutes

No action on minutes of the October meeting.

Directive: C. Cameron to buy a second green notebook for minutes.
Motion by O'Connor to pay any and all fees required by the city of Coral Gables before we can be placed on the January agenda for the St. Patrick's festival. Second by Wright. Motion passed.

Directive: Russell to pay Coral Gables for permits and ask to be placed on the agenda for January.

Good of the Order
Report by Fierro on ticket sales and seating for the Christmas festival and dinner. Report by B.Cameron who is working with a past president of the Elks club to arrange the tables in the hall to optimize seating. Report by Cooke that the raffle prizes are a 4 day/3 night cruise to the Bahamas, 2 round trip fares to Dublin and a weekend for two at Club Med in Port St. Lucie. All Board members were invited to take part in the weekly planning sessions on Monday night.
Motion by C.Cameron to have Board members take raffle tickets after the meeting. Second by Fitzgerald. Motion passed.

Treasurer's Report (David Russell)
The treasurer gave detailed financial reports and proposed budgets which are attached to these minutes. The society currently has 143 members. Motion by C.Cameron to give savings reports on quarterly basis to coincide with bank statements. Second by Fierro. Motion passed

Unfinished Business
St. Patrick's Festival
Directive: O'Brien to collect from Beveragelinks & Michael Wilson for advertising in the St. Patrick's festival book. B.Cameron to collect from the Taurus, Jim McCormick, and Bob Byrne.

Christmas in Killarney
Report by Fitzgerald about an article in Bea Moss's column in Neighbors. Posters have been distributed to various businesses around the county. Invitations have been sent, and tables are selling well. In addition to the entertainer's fees, piano rental is $319.50. Maurice Grunden and Wally Stevens are offering accommodations for the entertainers

Directive: O'Brien to appoint members to serve as chauffeurs for the entertainers so they can find their ways to the members homes where they will stay.

Directive: Sherry, Lynch, Cooney, & B. Cameron to divide the member list, with each taking 35 members, to call and urge members to sell raffle tickets. Sherry to take first 35, Lynch, second 35, Cooney, third 35, Cameron rest of list.

Web Site
Gary Tomeny has accepted a job in Jacksonville and must be replaced as liaison. We pay on hosting fee for the site but pay $50.00/hour for changes each time we update.

Directive: O'Brien and Russell to negotiate ways to keep website maintenance costs down.
Directive: O'Brien and Russell to work together on Tomeny's replacement as website liaison.
Directive: Sherry to proof copy before it gets sent to the web site liaison.

Membership Cards: Have not been sent out yet
Directive: Cooke to send out the membership cards.

Member Directory
Directive: C. Cameron to return the advertising checks because the directory was never printed.
Directive: Fierro to see that the directory is printed in 2003
Motion by C.Cameron to set deadline for directory listings at February 1, 2003 and to finish the directory by March 1, 2003. Second by everyone. Motion passed.
Directive: Fierro to see that the directory is printed in 2003
Committee Reports
Social (Bill O'Brien)
November 20, 2002 at 6:30 PM San Michel, 162 Alcazar Avenue, Coral Gables
Membership (Billy Cameron).
Motion by B. Cameron to accept Frank Patrick Carey into the Society. Second by D. Russell. Sponsored by Dan Fitzgerald. Motion Passed.
December Cultural Series Sunday, December 1 at 3:00 P.M. Ireland in 452 AD (St. Patrick's time) by Ed Cooke.

Corporate filings and reports
Motion by Fierro to form a corporation with the name of Irish Emerald Society of South Florida, Inc. Second by Sherry. Motion passed.

New Business
Motion by Cooke to give honorary title of "Gael" to members with outstanding service to the society. The title does not confer any role as officer or director and is strictly to recognize their contributions. Second by O'Connor. Motion passed.
