St. Brigid’s Day

  • University of Miami-Frost School of Music Location: Newman Recital Hall Miami United States (map)

Dear Friends of the Consulate of Ireland,

Happy New Year.  We are kicking off 2025 with a celebration of Irish music, dance and culture in honor of St. Brigid’s Day and the Celtic Festival of Imbolc which celebrated the goddess Brigid in pre-Christian Ireland.

Please join us on Sunday, January 26 for a very special event, organized in partnership with the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and the South Florida Emerald Society. It’s going to be an afternoon full of incredible performances, great music, dance, and community – and you will have an opportunity to join in and learn some fun Irish dance steps!

We are excited to showcase talented women in the arts with a range of performances, including a special Irish dance performance by the talented Floridian Kait Sardin, an extraordinary Irish dancer known for blending hip-hop with traditional Irish moves. There will also be beautiful music performed by Dr. Megan Walsh and Irish singer-songwriter Sarah Packiam, as well as some fantastic traditional Irish dancing by the Drake School of Irish Dance.

To conclude the afternoon, we will have a fun and inclusive Céilí, led by the multi-talented Irish dance instructor Niall O'Leary.  Niall is guaranteed to make you want to leave your seat and join in the fun!

This is a family-friendly, inclusive event, and we encourage all ages to come and enjoy. Bring the kids, the grandparents, and everyone in between! Just make sure to register through our Eventbrite page (Link) to reserve your spot as places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

We very much hope you can join us!
